Whether you’re going to the beach on vacation or you’ve rented a cottage on the lake, a jet ski or better yet a pair of them, can add some serious fun and excitement to the trip. Ice skates were originally invented to help people save energy whilst they were hunting in harsh winter conditions. Early ice skates were made from the leg bones of horses, ox’s and deer. The early versions of the skates were attached to the feet with leather straps and the people that wore them used a long pole with a sharp metal spike to help propel them along.
These skates have since been developed for different types of skating. The most notable development of the traditional Finnish design took place in New Brunswick in 1859 when James A. Whelpley developed the skate tohelp people that wear them travel over extensive distances. The skate was designed to help the user travel rapidly along the Long Reach section of the St John River. The skate was made up of a steel blade that was attached to a pair of normal boots withleather straps. The design and quality of these skates has been in development ever since. read more

Knowing the rules is especially important in hockey, because it is one of the few games in which players are provided with equipment that could injure an opponent. You should know the rules that describe the infractions calling for penalties. Not only should you know them, but you should understand their interpretations. For example, terms like cross-checking, hooking, slashing, and high-sticking tell you when you are committing a foul with your stick. Others like boarding, charging, kneeing, elbowing, and holding tell you how not to use the parts of your body in checking an opponent. Theserules are intended to reduce the chances of injuries and to prevent one player from gaining an unfair advantage over another. read more
